Margaret Joyce, Nanaimo school district crossing guard, mans her post at the Brechin and Estevan roads intersection Thursday. Joyce is one of several people employed by the school district who come out in all weather weekday mornings and afternoons to make sure children get across busy streets safely on their way to and from school.
