H2O is offering day camps for kids during teacher strike days

H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre has been running day camps to keep kids busy, active and learning during rotating job action.

With rotating strikes within B.C. schools over the past few weeks and the potential of an upcoming walkout, parents are left struggling to come up with options for their kids.

Over the past few strike days H2O Adventure + Fitness Centre has been running day camps designed to keep kids busy, active and learning and will be doing so for the upcoming rotating teachers strike set for Thursday June 12.

Staff are also preparing to start offering their summer day camps early in case of a full walkout which could take place as early as Monday, June 16. H2O’s half and full day camp options include morning aquatic camps and afternoon theme camps—providing flexibility so parents can customize for their families.

H2O Adventure and Fitness Center is operated by the YMCA of Okanagan and has increased the number of kids programs offered significantly over the past year. On a regular basis programs such as Movie Mania, Active Kidz Camp, Movie n’ Swim nights, and Weekend Boredom Busters provide kids with opportunities to be social, learn new skills, swim, explore interests and simply have fun.
