Researchers have captured a stunning display of fireworks that takes place when human sperm enters an egg.

Zinc sparks create a brilliant flash of fluorescent light. The greater the flash, the greater the viability of the developing embryo.

This is an amazing discovery, but contains a truth already revealed in Jesus Christ… “In him was life, and the life was the light of men…. to those who receive him, he gives the power to become the children of God, even to those who believe on his name.” – (John 1:12)

Jesus said, “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I say unto you, ‘You must be born again’.”  An unfertilized egg has a very short, dark existence, void of life. Without Christ, we are the same.

By receiving him, we are… “Born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever. For all flesh is as grass, and the glory of mankind as the flowers of the grass. The grass withers, and the flower of it falls away. But the word of the Lord endures forever, and this is the message that by the gospel is preached to you.”

But having received Christ, notice the guarantee of both life and light – “for we have been born again to a living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance, incorruptible, and undefiled, and that cannot fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are being kept by the power of God, through faith, until your coming deliverance, ready to be revealed in the last hour.” – (1 Peter 1:3-5) That hour is near.  Have you been born again?
