A monthly museum society business meeting may not seem like a high point of excitement in the day, but it is if it includes an attack by a swarm of man-eating killer ants, says Netanja Waddell.
The manager of the Qualicum Beach Museum said the showing of the film Ants at their Jan. 3 meeting drew 50 people turning out to see a younger Graham Beard battle the ravenous insects at the old Qualicum College Inn.
“We had a full house and people really enjoyed it,” Waddell said. “The acting may not have been of the highest calibre, but it was hilarious and it was so wonderful to see Qualicum Beach and the College Inn, where it was mostly filmed.”
With this success in mind, Waddell has booked TOSH executive director Corinne James to speak at their next meeting, slated for Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 1:30 p.m. at the Qualicum Beach Civic Centre.
“She will talk about the history of TOSH in the community,” Waddell said.
The meeting is open to the public at no charge.
