Honouring those who didn’t make it to their final resting place

To help pay honour to their memory here they are and their final resting places.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young. Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted, They fell with their faces to the foe.

The number of men who volunteered for military service in the two great wars, who had ties to Golden and its surrounding communities is staggering. Over 400 men went enlisted.

Many died! Of the ones who died at least 24 were never returned back to the valley but rather lay in cemeteries scattered around the world.  To help pay honour to their memory here they are and their final resting places.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them.
