Kayla Fenwick competed in both the BC Gymnastics and Tumbling Championships as well as the BC Provincial Junior Handling Competition at the Renaissance Dog Show this past weekend. She represented the BC Interior / Yukon zone in junior handling.
A jam packed weekend traveling back and forth between Chilliwack and Langley was worthwhile as Kayla took home ribbons from both events, placing 6th in double-mini B level trampoline and runner-up in the junior handling competition as an intermediate novice.
As one of only a few dog handlers in Revelstoke, Kayla was recently hired to teach a local dog how to behave in the show ring. This dog, Cleo, a Rhodesian ridgeback, subsequently went on to take Best of Winners at the dog show, earning five points, the most points a dog can earn in one dog show.
Kayla’s male golden retriever received his Canadian championship this weekend. Under Kayla’s handling, her female Golden Retriever placed fourth.
All in all, a great weekend for Kayla and her dogs.
