Kids get a chance to Try It on Friday

  • Feb. 15, 2011 1:00 p.m.

School is out for the day on Friday, so it’s a good opportunity to try your hand, and feet, at something new.

Children and youth aged three to 16 are invited to spend the upcoming Pro-D day kicking, flipping, diving, and dancing at the Walnut Grove Community Centre, during the Township of Langley’s free Try It! Fair. From noon to 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, local sports organizations will be on hand so children can try out a variety of activities, including scuba, hula dance, gymnastics, fitness, soccer, and more.

“We encourage kids to come play with us,” said Alicia Stark, Township community recreation programmer. “This is a chance for them to try out a number of different activities for free, see what they like, and find new ways to get fit and healthy while having a good time.”

Registration is not required but children must be supervised by a parent or other responsible adult.

The Walnut Grove Community Centre is located at 8889 Walnut Grove Dr. For more information, call 604-882-0408.
