The Chinese New Year 2015 takes place today (Thursday, Feb. 19). Many people in countries such as Canada celebrate Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year. The Chinese zodiac follows a 12 year cycle with each of the years being named after a different animal. February 19, marks the beginning of the Year of the Goat, also known as the Year of the Sheep or Ram. In celebration of this, the theme for the 66th annual North Thompson Fall Fair and Rodeo to be held in Barriere on the September long weekend will be ‘goats’.
