It’s special to me because it was the very first baked dessert my mom made in Canada, and my whole family loved it so much that we dubbed this our Christmas tradition ever since – to enjoy these pecan tarts ourselves and also to share these with our friends every Christmas season!

Mom’s Christmas pecan tart

This recipe makes 15 pecan tarts

Brown sugar 60g

2 eggs

Corn syrup (can replace with maple syrup) 4Tbs

Margarine 1 tbsp

Pecan and walnuts 300g

Preheat the oven to 350°

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and egg yolks. Whisk in corn syrup, brown sugar, then melted margarine. Stir in the pecan and walnuts.

Fill the tart shells with the filling, so it just touches the base of top of the crust.

Bake at 350° for 40 minutes.
