Learn about Kent Street at informative social

New members of Kent Street or those thinking about becoming members are invited to join us on Monday, March 21 at 11 a.m. for an informative social in the auditorium.

This is the perfect opportunity to meet some of the staff, learn about the many programs, activities and events that are offered at Kent Street and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

A reminder that Kent Street is now accepting your paperwork if you need assistance completing your tax return.

We have trained volunteers available to help those 65+ on limited income complete income tax and benefit returns. Please drop off your 2009 return along with 2010 forms and receipts to the Kent Street office between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, or Saturday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Our volunteers will electronically file your return by computer and return completed forms and receipts for you to pick up from Kent Street. Start “planting” ahead. The Annual Kent Street Plant Sale is coming up on April 30.

The Kent Street Seniors Society welcomes your donations of saleable seedlings, rooted cuttings, summer bulbs, potted plants, berry canes and herbs.

Please bring items to Kent Street the day prior to the sale – Friday, April 29. Donations are most appreciated.

Did you know White Rock now has a fourth recreation facility offering a variety of exercise programs?

The Centre for Active Living, located beside Centennial Park Leisure Centre, has opened its doors and welcomes you to try some of the new programs being offered.

Cardio Fit for 50+ is a circuit training program led by a qualified fitness trainer. Get your heart pumping while using the fabulous brand new fitness equipment. Classes run Monday and Wednesday evenings between 6:15 and 7 p.m. Beginners welcome. Call 604-541-2199 to register.
