Live by the sword die by the sword

The Bible predicts a coalition of the Northern kingdoms which rise against Israel in a unprecedented display of military power.

As I watch the news unfold in Syria, I am reminded of the Biblical prophets who wrote, “Woe to him who builds a town with blood, and establishes a city by iniquity … woe to the leaders who slay their own people and hold themselves not guilty.”

Jesus said, “Those who live by the sword die by the sword.”

Added to the crime of the Syrian regime, is the crime of Russia, China and Iran, who are watching Syria’s back and have threatened deadly reprisals on any country that intervenes.

Why such a vested interest in Syria? The Bible predicts a coalition of the Northern kingdoms which rise against Israel in a unprecedented display of military power.

Why do I believe this? Because the prophets foretold in magnificent detail the empires that would dominate the Middle East until Christ returns.

The book of Daniel alone foretold Babylon’s rise to power and their overthrow of Assyria; the rise of the Medes and Persians and their overthrow of Babylon; the conquest of Alexander the Great over the Persians, his death, and the division of his empire to his four generals; the six wars between the Seleucids and Ptolemies; the treachery of Antiochus IV Epiphanes; Rome, and finally, the number of kingdoms up until the revival of the Ottoman Empire, which we are watching today.

This is undeniable proof that God knows the end from the beginning, just as he has said.

Prophecy is history prerecorded so you can check God out and trust him.  Faith is not blind trust.

That is stupidity. Faith is intelligent convictions based upon accurate facts.  Since the prophetic track record of the Bible is one hundred percent, we can confidently believe the rest of the Bible and place our faith in Jesus Christ, because it’s his kingdom that wins.
