Correlieu’s Chuck Mobley Theatre is about to rock out with the second annual Rawk Camp, July 18 – 22. Very popular last year, it wasn’t surprising that parents, mostly moms, were asking about an adult class.
Once again Speed Control, three talented musicians with an added degree in humour, enthusiasm and teaching ability, will lead two separate groups of young rockers through their paces for five days culminating in a rock concert Friday, July 22, 6:30 p.m. in the theatre. Admission is by donation.
Youth between 8 – 18 years of age are invited to register for this amazing five-day camp, where all their rock dreams could come true. Coached by three passionate rockers, participants will have the experience of a lifetime.
Classes will be divided
between young beginners from 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and older, possibly more experienced youth from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m.
Experience is a subjective thing and no one should feel they can’t participate just because they haven’t spent time rocking’ out.
Open to boys and girls, Rawk Camp costs $100. Speak to Colleen 250-747-1727 about financial issues.
With only 24 spots available, it’s wise to book early to avoid being disappointed. Registration forms are available at the Quesnel and District Arts and Recreation Centre and at the Cariboo Observer on Carson Avenue.
A Youth Engagement Grant from B.C. Touring Council made it possible to bring in Speed Control for the Rawk Camp.
To see photos of last year’s Rawk Camp visit either the Children’s Concert Society or Quesnel and District Community Arts Council Facebook page.
Completed forms must be returned to the Arts and Rec Centre, 500 North Star Road, along with payment (cash, debit, cheque, Visa, MasterCard.)
