Katherine Semrick, a long time Barriere resident and well known artist, will be enjoying a showing of her acrylic paintings at the Kamloops Art Council’s Wilson House Gallery, 115 Tranquille Road, Feb. 21 to Mar. 28. The showing is titled ‘Out My Back Door’ and will host the official opening on Feb. 23, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Semrick says she is inspired by the abundance of magnificent wildlife in the North Thompson Valley.

Her attention to detail and passion for realism are quickly gaining recognition throughout the Pacific Northwest for her breath-taking “true life” wildlife paintings.

Katherine has won several awards for her paintings and her works adorn the walls of private collectors throughout the North Thompson Valley, Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island and Washington State. Katherine’s commissioned works include dozens of paintings on the aboriginal drums of the local First Nation people.
