Thompson River.

Thompson River.

Lytton, where two great rivers meet, is a little village nestled above the Fraser River.  The community is situated on a bench, which provides a level walking area that is accessible for those with limited mobility.

Lytton is famous as a whitewater rafting destination, and is a centre for wilderness adventures and a variety of outdoor activities. It’s a good place to try out geocaching and see a range of wildlife including black and grizzly bears, rattlesnakes and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep.

It is here in Lytton where the Thompson’s clear blue water joins the muddy water of the Fraser.

The community outdoor pool is a wonderful place to cool off on hot summer days. Every Friday from May to October, there’s a Farmers Market on Fourth Street in the village centre. Local produce is sold here and is a great place to feel the the community’s welcoming atmosphere. Lytton’s major events are Lytton Days on the May long weekend, River Festival on the Labour Day weekend, and the Remembrance Pow Wow in November.
