Manning Provincial Park has been a year-round playground for outdoor enthusiasts for over 70 years. Rugged mountains, vast forests and alpine meadows highlight this 70,884-hectare park.
In the summer, hiking opportunities are abundant. An ideal place for a walk and to get a feel for the coastal old growth forest is Sumallo Grove, where you’ll find a wheelchair accessible interpretive trail. Hiking opportunities in the park range from this easy stroll to days-long treks into the wilderness. Some of the parks most challenging hikes include the Dewdney Trail, Heather Trail, Hope Pass Trail,Frosty Mountain Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Whatcom Trail, and the Skyline I and Skyline II trails.
Manning Provincial Park also offers some great family fishing in one of its many alpine lakes. Lightning Lake is a beautiful spot to enjoy a picnic, rent a canoe, try your luck fishing, or take a refreshing dip in the clear mountain waters.
Camping at one of the park’s four campgrounds or at one of its hike-in wilderness sites is another popular activity for visitors to the park.
