Winter is upon us and those who are less fortunate tend to go without.
So this year, Re/Max Kelowna realtor Mark Ranger and TD Mortgages broker Trevor Tremblay have decided to team up with local radio station K96.3 Classic Rock to reach out and give back to the city and the people they love.
Over the next few days you may see these two going from door to door asking for non-perishable items to donate to the Familes Feeding Families program.
Ranger and Tremblay will be asking for non-perishable food donations until Monday. If anyone would like to donate please call 250-215-9221 and they will gladly come to your home to pick up your generous donation.
“On the morning drive into work on Wednesday I was listening to the morning show with David and Tony and they had mentioned the charity event, Familes Feeding Families and how they would be fundraising for non-perishable food items on Monday, December 9, at the local Tim Hortons on Harvey and Spall,” said Tremblay.
“This seemed like a good cause to support, so Mark and I are honoured to be a part of it and help out.”
K96.3 will broadcast on location with Ranger and Tremblay on Monday at the Tim Hortons from 5:30 to 9 a.m. Listeners will be encouraged to stop by with a non-perishable food item or cash donation for the cause.
Every donation counts and we’re happy to collect any non-perishable food item you may have.
There will be a Salvation Army Kettle on location to collect any cash donations as well.
If you are looking for food donation ideas the Salvation Army says Snacks for Lunches is an area where families can always use help.
“I feel that we have missed the meaning of the holiday season and I would like to get back to the roots of what this season is all about,” said Ranger.
“This came to our attention and seemed like a good opportunity to partner up with K96.3 and give back to the community. I encourage all my friends, family and clients to reach out and donate any non-perishable food items to this great cause.”
