Look for a parking lot full of chrome and leather Saturday, June 16 at the Rod and Gun in Parksville for the first annual motorcycle Show n’ Shine.
From its humble beginning back in 1867, the motorcycle has evolved over the years but one thing that remains constant is its allure.
With the wind in your face and nothing between you and the road but power and agility, even the scrawniest rat bike, if it still runs, has an underlying beauty and style.
Kevin Hitch, general manager at the Rod and Gun said he doesn’t ride, but he has a lot of friends who do and he thought it would be a great idea to have a special day for the mighty machines and their owners. He said he expects at least 50 bikes, but of course it depends on the weather. All motorcycles are welcome with registration from 9 a.m. until noon and awards at 5 p.m. Trophies will be handed out for best custom, best paint, best garage build, best touring and the Rod and Gun choice.
There will be a barbecue, raffles, vendors and live music by Saturday’s Racket.
