The North Thompson Volunteer and Information Centre would like to thank every volunteer who takes the time to promote any cause.  We appreciate the abundance of volunteers in our community who help us to grow and flourish.

Most groups and organizations would not survive without these volunteers and no matter how big or small the commitment, it all adds up to making things happen.

Volunteers take pride in what they do to serve their communities, and they get great satisfaction in seeing their efforts help others.  Most of the time volunteers go unnoticed as they blend into doing what they do to get the job done.

Volunteers just want to do their part to help get projects going that otherwise wouldn’t happen without people pulling together. The week of April 6 to 13, 2014, is National Volunteer Week.  It’s time to thank those volunteers who carry on volunteering because they can, and because they want to.

We should remember to recognize those who volunteer all year round, but it is great to have a special time to dedicate to those who give countless hours to better themselves and those around them.

Thank you volunteers, you are rewarded in the satisfaction of a job well done, but your community organizations appreciate and thank you too.

If you want to get involved and become a volunteer in your community, please visit us at the North Thompson Volunteer and Information Centre, in the Barriere Ridge (Municipal Hall).  There are many jobs both big and small in need of volunteers, and we will help you connect with the people involved.   Our office hours are Tuesday to Friday 9 a.m.  to 1 p.m., or you can call 250-672-0033.

Don’t wait for tomorrow, start today!
