The Vermilion Forks Field Naturalists held its annual general meeting on Feb. 14 and installed their executive members, including Cathie Yingling, who will stand as president for a final year.
Photographer, birder and club member Amanda Lahaie gave an excellent presentation on birds, – largely local – featuring some of her amazing photos. The well-attended meeting ended convivially with refreshments, including valentine-related sweets, most appropriate for the day!
The next meeting will be held March 13, when South Okanagan naturalist Eva Durance will present photos of plants, birds and fish found on the east coast of Australia.
Our next field trip will be Feb. 25 to Amber Ski Hill, led by Joan Kelly.
Please phone her at 250-295-7743 if you are interested in attending.
