Overwaitea is teaming up with the Golden Rockets to help raise money for the BC Children’s Hospital.

“We’ve had good success in our other stores that have done this prior,” said Jon Stammers, manager of operations at Overwaitea.

The store is collecting books, which they will be selling for $2 a piece, as well as movies. All the money raised will go to the BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.

Right now the store is just gathering the books and movies, and the sale will be going on throughout November.

“People gan drop them off here if they like, or there will be a bin at the Rockets game through October,” said Stammers.

“We’re always looking for more creative ways to get the community involved. And really, how many people don’t want to get rid of a few books and movies?

“There’s definitely a lot of support in this community when it comes to Children’s Hospital. I mean, Golden is really good at supporting us anyway, so it’s been great,” said Stammers.

There is a bin near the entrance inside Overwaitea, so feel free drop off any unwanted books or movies there, or at the next Rockets game.
