Panorama Mountain Village will once again be hosting the Mountain of Hope charity gala on January 29.

The gala helps raise funds for members of the community who have come upon difficult times and do not have resources readily available to call upon.

The Mountain of Hope was originally formed as a response to the “passing of the hat” style fundraiser events, and was held to react to unfortunate incidents and people in need in the community.

Over the years, Mountain of Hope has garnered increased awareness.

“Asking for help can be the hardest thing to do and especially so in a small community where everybody knows you,” said Neil Carey, spokesperson for Mountain of Hope. “The Mountain of Hope keeps all requests for help confidential and acts as silent helpers to those in the community.”

This year’s gala will include a silent auction, cocktails, dinner and dancing, which will be taking place at Panorama’s Copper Crown facility.

“Panorama is proudly supporting the Mountain of Hope Gala in several ways,” said Pete Bourke, director of food and beverage at Panorama, in a press release. “Food and wine products are provided at cost and in some cases on a sponsored basis through our corporate partners. Several employees from the Panorama food and beverage department donate their time to setup and serve the event.

“The Mountain of Hope Gala is an opportunity to raise funds to help people in our community. This is our community helping our community where there is a strong need. I support their initiative and their program,” said Rick Jensen, president of Panorama.
