Put Your Pedals To The Metal

Wheels are turning in the Fraser Valley, home to some first-class riding trails for beginners and experienced mountain bikers alike. Whether you prefer lung-bursting, high-intensity trails or pedaling leisurely through winding woodland, there is something for everyone.

Sumas Mountain, located only 15 minutes from downtown Abbotsford, is an ideal destination for a full spectrum of trail options. The mountain offers a wide range of adrenalin-inducing downhill descents.

Downes Bowl is also a great option. It’s a beginners trail in the heart of Abbotsford, near the Ag-Rec Centre on 32470 Haida Dr., and provides a wide path with moderately steep sections and several bridges. In addition, the Ag-Rec Centre hosts one of Canada’s premier indoor BMX facilities annually from November to February, and a world-class outdoor track is nearby at Exhibition Park.
