Jim Chambers of Little Fort demonstrates a velocipedec, a railway memorabilia he recently restored. The human-powered machines were used to travel along the railway tracks for patrols and local transportation until fairly recently. They were light enough that they could be lifted off the tracks by the operators if a train was coming. Chambers gave his demonstration during an antique engine show at Clearwater Farmers Market earlier this month.
