Ready to Unplug and Play

It’s time for old-fashioned fun at the Vernon Museum with Grandma’s Toy Box

If you remember playing with marbles, jacks, double Dutch skipping and a host of other games, toys and crafts from the past, don’t miss the Greater Vernon Museum & Archives “Grandma’s Toy Box” event.

The museum is encouraging parents and grandparents to come play with their children or grandchildren May 3 from 3 to 5 p.m.

“A variety of toys, games and crafts from the past will be available,” said Denise Marsh, marketing and communications coordinator at the museum. “Children will have the opportunity to create their own toy to take home, with juice and cookies provided to keep everyone energized.

“Unplug for the afternoon and enjoy some good old fashioned fun!”

Admission is by donation, but as space is limited please call 250-542-3142 to preregister. This event is part of Unplug & Play week, a project of the North Okanagan Optimist Club, encouraging families to unplug and play in their community.
