With an estimated 1,000 Canadians retiring each day, there is a growing need for information and planning.
Many people mistakenly think that all they need is money to retire successfully, but there are many lifestyle decisions that are typically made upon retirement as well. These include choosing activities to keep you physically and mentally stimulated, where to live, and how to manage travel, grandchildren and investments.
It was with those ideas in mind, and experience with a number of individuals, co-workers, friends and family whose retirement dreams were lacking solid plans, that the Retirement Planning Expo was imagined. It is a three-day event including a hands-on coaching session, a conference, and a trade show to be held this weekend, November 6 to 8 at the Coast Capri Hotel. Each day offers something different.
Certified retirement coach and Retirement Planning Expo coordinator, Lorelei Fiset says, “The speakers lined up on Friday for the conference offer clear information on a wide variety of topics. Questions that people have about estates, philanthropy, reverse mortgages, alternative investments, buying international property, staying active and healthy in retirement, and getting organized at home, will all be addressed at the conference on Friday.”
The entire schedule is on the website with choices of sessions making sure attendees will get something out of the whole day.
On Saturday, the trade show features vendors in the fields of health, financial, travel, education and employment opportunities. Attendees will see demonstrations of laser therapy and eyelash extensions, and be able to enter to win door prizes including at $200 Travel gift certificate from KVI travel.
Tickets for Friday’s conference are $30 online at www.retirementplanningexpo.com or $40 at the door.
The Conference runs Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the trade show goes Saturday 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Coast Capri Hotel in Kelowna. For more information call 1-855-545-0553.
