Horseback riders are about to gallop for the annual Find the Golden Horse Shoe Poker Ride.
The event happens Saturday, Sept. 6 at Timber Ridge Trails in Lumby.
“If you have never been to Timber Ridge Trails you are missing out on some of the best trail riding in the Okanagan,” said Nancy Roman, with the event’s organizing committee.
“This is a fundraiser for the B.C. Interior Morgan Horse Club (www.bcimhc.com) but all breeds, sizes and ages are welcome to come out and take in the fabulous marked trails, scenery, food and prizes.”
In addition, a special prize will be given to the rider who finds the Golden Horseshoe.
Cost to participate is $15 per rider, which includes one poker hand, with additional hands costing $5 each. Registration will be open from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
“Ride on your own and at your own pace,” said Roman.
The ride will finish by 3 p.m. for the awards and prizes. A food concession will also be on site.
Corrals and camping/cabins are available by calling Darlene at 250-309-3544. For info on the ride, call Roman 250-546-9922.
