Quesnel’s second annual Rawk Camp could be fostering the next Jimmie Page or Eric Clapton as kids between eight and 18 rocked out for five days with rocker group Speed Control. The kids cycled through the various instruments including base and lead guitar, keyboard, drums and vocals. Using humour, positive reinforcement and dedication to the learning process, Speed Control’s Graeme Peters, brother Jody Peters and Ian March guided young local rock’n rollers through their paces with iconic songs and classic rocker moves. The week reached a crescendo on Friday night when the students gave it their all in a stellar performance. Rawk Camp and Speed Control were sponsored by Quesnel and District Community Arts Council, the B.C. Arts Council and additionally Speed Control is sponsored by Yamaha.
