It’s Amen to Christmas 2010 and New Year’s Celebrations for 2011.
Christmas day was a beautiful mild, sunny day. We couldn’t have asked for better weather. Christmas celebrations in this, my not so new digs, were both plentiful and fun, with lots of good baking everywhere.
I also watched a lot of TV over the holidays. One CBC 11 p.m. news cast had as it’s major story, the pros and cons of the Alberta oil tar sands situation (a hot topic most everywhere). Myself, I see a greed for oil bucks on one side, and the destruction of wildlife as being the crux of the story – c’est la guerre! [a French phrase – “it’s the war”]
There were three tables of Whist in play on Monday night at the Senior’s Hall, and the winner was Carol Bugera with a 213 score, and Joe Sabyan with 207. Other good scores were Ed Gartner with 206, and Carol Jones with 200.
Things have started up again at the hall. Carpet bowling meets every Tuesday and Thursday at 10 a.m., fun cards every Wednesday at 1 p.m., and sewing on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m. Come out and meet people and have some fun.
Mark your calendars for Jan. 10 – the Don Bugera Memorial Whist Tournament at the hall.
