The City of White Rock is celebrating autumn with the Fall Festival of the Arts.

Be sure to attend the many scheduled events, starting with the Moon Festival, Oct. 4 from 5-9 p.m., Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Oct. 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the White Rock waterfront (West Beach).

This festival will be a celebration of Chinese and Canadian culture that will feature over 500 Chinese lanterns lighting the pier and promenade.

There will be a variety of entertainers, as well as food vendors to tempt your taste buds and art displays to top off this visual extravaganza.

n On Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m., Blue Frog Studios is hosting a lively musical stage show that celebrates the possibility of restoring wild salmon runs to historic levels of abundance.

Enjoy high-energy music, stories and art images and learn more about this important issue during what will be sure to be an enjoyable, meaningful evening.

The event is entitled “40 Million Salmon Can’t be Wrong,” featuring the Wilds, with guest speakers Roy Henry Vickers and Russ George.

n To celebrate the Craft Council of B.C.’s 40th anniversary, Semiahmoo Arts and the White Rock Museum and Archives present: Rock, Paper, Scissors – The Transformative Power of Craft.

The hard work of the many artists on display at the museum until Oct. 15 emphasizes how important craft is in the Semiahmoo Peninsula region. Work ranges in mediums from fibre to metal, wood to ceramic and glass to vellum.
