The White Rock Community Centre is offering a Personal Safety workshop on Sept. 19 and Oct. 22 at no charge. Conducted by White Rock Community Policing, this session will focus on reducing the chances of becoming a victim at home, on the street, when travelling and in a vehicle.
You will also learn some easy self-defence moves; no previous experience required.

We will be having a Senior Connector visit Kent Street the first Wednesday of every month, starting Sept. 5 at 9:30 a.m. to bring information about housing options, medical support, government assistance and abuse awareness for seniors, their families and caregivers.
They will also be available to help with application forms for OAS, GIS and SAFER. No appointment necessary.
• The White Rock Business Improvement Association is hosting an Uptown Street Festival Art Walk starting Sept. 8 displaying art in local businesses.
The White Rock Community Centre is displaying works of art as part of Outside the Box –an exploration in fibre – so be sure to take a tour and enjoy the beautiful work.
