• Due to demand, the Kent Street Activity Centre will continue with its ongoing book sale until Monday, March 6.
Please drop in during regular business hours and take a look at the wide variety of books available for sale at very low prices.
• If you are over 65 and need assistance with completing your income-tax returns, community volunteers are available to help file your tax returns electronically.
This free service is provided to seniors on low income with simple forms. Just drop off your forms at the Kent Street Activity Centre to be e-filed. Returns that do not meet the criteria will be returned unfiled.

• Kent Street Activity Centre is hosting Lunch with an Author on Thursday, March 2, 12:45-2 p.m.
Author Sylvia Taylor will be presenting her book The Fisher Queen: A Deckhand’s Tales of the BC Coast.
Enjoy a delicious lunch as Taylor discusses excerpts from her book that explores the tight-knit relationship of fishers with the West Coast’s wild untamed waters.

Find out at Around the World with Noodles on Saturday, March 4, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kent Street Activity Centre. Create amazing noodle dishes including spicy szechuan noodles, Singapore noodles, Italian puttanesca sauce and more.

• Don’t miss two informative heath-talk presentations at the Centre for Active Living. On Wednesday, March 1, 1-2:30 p.m., find out how reflexology can help improve sleep and get introduced to sleep practices and relaxation techniques that will help you find better sleep.
On Tuesday, March 7, 10-11 a.m., learn how to manage osteoarthritis, the most common type of arthritis that affects almost everyone by the age of 80.

White Rock Recreation and Culture hosts numerous bridge card-game groups at three recreation centres for all levels of play.

• The Kent Street dance committee welcomes you to dance the month of March away. Each Wednesday night, a different band is featured playing live music for social dancing.
Singles and couples aged 50-plus are welcome. Doors open at 7 p.m. with dancing from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Refreshments served midway. This week’s band is Silver Stars.
