Do you love to go wandering along a mountain path?

Sign up now for spring hikes. There is a variety of day hikes with varying pace and elevation gain. Weekday and weekend hikes are led by certified outdoor leaders and include transportation.

For urban hikers, join the Nordic Stride Club. This friendly walking group meets Monday, Wednesday and Friday locally or within a short drive of the Peninsula. Call 604-541-2199 for more information.

n Next up in the Encore Concert Series are the beautiful melodies of Schubert as performed by Eugene Skovorodnikov on the piano, April 6, 3-4 p.m. at the First United Church in White Rock, 15385 Semiahmoo Ave. To purchase advance tickets, call 604-541-2199. Limited tickets and seating at the door.

n A few spaces are still available for the April 15 excursion to The Grandkid at the Richmond Gateway Theatre. This live-theatre production will surely bring a smile to your face as it reminds us that kids grow up fast but our inner child never ages. n If you enjoy dancing to live music, drop in to the Kent Street Activity Centre on Wednesdays from 7:30-10:30 p.m. for social dancing. Open to those 50-plus, buy your tickets at the door (open at 7 p.m.). Refreshments served midway. Tomorrow night (April 2), G7 will be on stage to keep your toes tapping.

n If you are looking for a gentle activity to participate in and meet friends, why not come to the Kent Street Activity Centre every Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon for carpet bowling? n The BC Seniors Games will be in Langley this year in September. Registration is now open for the variety of active sports and events, including badminton, golf, swimming, track and field, and many others. Visit www.bcseniorsgames.org and get involved.
