Thanks to the 200 enthusiastic participants who attended the Silver Star Murder Mystery Dinner last month, many dressed in full ’80s regalia, to help solve the mystery.

As many suspected, the motive for the murder was wrapped up in a love triangle.

Murder and mayhem ruled as the wealthy Duchess, played by Diana Young, threatened to buy Silver Star Mountain and take it over as a personal playground for herself and her boy toy head of ski patrol, played by Jeremy Griffiths.

At the end of the evening it was revealed the Duchess was murdered by her personal assistant, played by Tracey Griffiths.

The motive?

The personal assistant was also in love with the head of ski patrol. Apparently the ’80s were a wild time at Silver Star.

Thanks to Keyanna Burghesk who inspired the concept for the play and to playwright and director Lorna Wood who masterminded the murderous and entertaining plot, many Silver Star locals who rounded out the cast, and the Silver Star Dreamweavers Society who hosted the dinner.

More than $9,000 was raised for the Silver Star Museum. To date, Dreamweavers has raised $22,000 for the Silver Star Museum project.

They hope to make their fundraising goal of $50,000 a reality by 2018 in order to construct the Silver Star Museum in time for Silver Star’s 60th anniversary.

Tax deductible donations, photos and artifacts are still being accepted by the Vernon Museum and Archives.

The committee is particularly interested in finding a red chair from the old chairlift.
