Naomi and Sarah Watson take jumping rope to a whole new level

Sisters Naomi and Sarah Watson are two small girls with big hearts.

The Pleasant Valley Christian Academy students recently raised $1,500 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation through Jump Rope for Heart.

PVCA is a small Christian school with 26 students located just off Pleasant Valley Road on 45th Avenue in Vernon. Each year for the past 11 years, PVCA has participated in the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart fundraising campaign.

Last month, the students of PVCA participated in a Jump event to wrap up three weeks of fundraising.

“This has been a celebration of effort and accomplishments,” said Laurie Little, event organizer and education assistant at the school. “Our students have really been engaged and enthusiastic. All together, our students have collected donations of more than $1,800 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

“This year, a heroic effort was made by Naomi and Sarah, and their mother who faithfully took them out to collect donations. We are looking forward to rewarding our awesome students with the prizes they earned for their outstanding efforts.”

Naomi has earned a new bike from Canadian Tire and a Vtech Actioncam and Sarah has also earned a Vtech Actioncam. Naomi is being recognized as the top fundraiser in the entire region with donations of $1,025.65.”

Little said PVCA has a strong emphasis on community service as part of a balanced development of the whole person. The mission of PVCA is to educate students to love God, love learning and serve humanity.

“Way to go, Naomi and Sarah! Way to go, PVCA,” said Little.
