Harpist Eduard Klassen performs in concert on Sunday, Aug. 26 at King Road Mennonite Brethren Church (32068 King Rd.) at 6 p.m. Admission is free but offerings will be gratefully accepted. Klassen has been playing the harp from a young age, and his tours have taken him to more than 23 countries, where he has performed over 3,500 concerts. A typical performance from him features a variety of Christian harp music from South America, North America and Europe interspersed with personal testimony.

Mission’s Kitchens offers a workshop on how to can dill pickles by water bath on Saturday, Aug. 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at St. Andrew’s United Church, 7756 Grand St.
A session on the water bath canning of pears is on Sept. 9 and on plum jam is Oct. 6. A workshop on how to pressure-can mixed vegetables is Sept. 15, and on pumpkin is Oct. 20. Cost is $35 for the water bath classes, and $45 for pressure canning. All equipment and materials are supplied.

The CNIB is in need of volunteer “Vision Mates” to assist people who are blind and partially sighted living in Abbotsford.
