PARKSVILLE — A new name and time has been introduced for a 34-year-old, local program at the Society of Organized Services in Parksville.

The SOS announces the program TOTAM (Time Out for Tots and Moms) is now called TIC TAC (Time in Comfort for Tots and Caregivers).

This popular program reaches out to support all those within District 69 caring for children ranging from newborn to five-year-olds.

Fathers, grandparents, aunts, nannies, foster parents, and others provide child-care, as well as moms. This name change lets all caregivers know they are welcome to join the program.

Now offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:15 to 11:15 a.m., the program fundamentals remain the same.

Adults intermingle while the children are busy having fun with creative play, music, games, stories, and nutritious snacks, in a safe and supportive environment.

Tuesday participants can choose a lively, Zumba workout, and monthly guest speakers will share topical information.

This program remains free of charge.

If you’re new to town and would like to meet other adults, need a bit of a break, a refreshing change of pace, would like to learn about other local services or attractions, would like your child to meet new friends, you are welcome to see if this popular program fits your needs.

Drop by the Society of Organized Services, call 250-248-2093 ext. 237, or visit our website at www.sosd69.com for information on this or other SOS programs.
