Kawkawa Creek in Thacker Regional Park

Kawkawa Creek is locally known as Sucker’s Creek. It offers a shallow water play area and a sandy beach, which is perfect for families. Kawkawa Creek flows into the Coquihalla River.  There’s no lifeguard on duty.

Kawkawa Lake

Kawkawa Lake Park offers a sandy beach, roped-off swimming area, picnic tables, boat launch, children’s playground and public restrooms. This lake is popular with boaters, but there is no lifeguard on duty. Take Kawkawa Lake Road for about two kilometres from downtown Hope. Watch for the park entrance sign on the left.

Lake of the Woods

Lake of the Woods is north of Hope along the Trans-Canada Highway. Guests of Lake of the Woods Resort can access the private beach area. The public can access the lake from a highway rest area, down a small embankment. No lifeguards are on duty and motorboats are not allowed. The lake is suited for canoeing or kayaking.

Silver Lake

Silver Lake is located in Silver Lake Provincial Park, 12 kilometres south of Hope. Travel west on Flood-Hope Road to Silver Creek and then south on Silver Skagit Road which edges Silverhope Creek. The lake has no defined swimming area, no wharfs or docks, and no lifeguards on duty. The small lake offers a boat launch, but only electric motors are allowed.
