Surrey students are cooking their way through school.
Four culinary arts students from Tamanawis and Enver Creek Secondary schools have been honoured by the B.C. Chefs’ Association and were awarded scholarships worth $700 each toward post-secondary chef training.
They are Josh Morgan and Nathan Chan from Tamanawis and Stefano D’Emilio and Logan Moore from Enver Creek.
To be eligible for the scholarship, students had to submit a letter stating their reasons for wanting to become a chef, why they deserve a scholarship, their past cooking experience and their career goals.
The scholarships were given out at the BCCA’s annual Scholarship Awards Brunch.
