Encourage kids to gobble up some reading this summer! Children will Savour Each Word when they join the 2011 Summer Reading Club for free at your local Thompson-Nicola Regional District library. The Summer Reading Club is a fun, flexible program offered at all TNRD libraries including Blue River, Barriere, Clearwater, Vavenby and Birch Island.

Kids can sign up at their local TNRD library in June and throughout the summer and receive a fabulous free Reading Record and bookmark, as well as collect weekly stickers. Younger children can sign up for the Read-to-Me Club to receive a free Reading Record and a crayon.

Check us out for fun free programs, contests and displays all summer. Kids who complete their Reading Record will be eligible to receive a special Summer Reading Club medal or ribbon.

Here’s a list of events in your area:

• Blue River Library, Puppet Play – Aug. 3 at 11:30 a.m.

• Barriere Library, Puppet Play – July 28 at 2 p.m., Gaming Day – Aug. 19 at 4 p.m.
