Try some fitness for your flexible and creative brain

Brain Trainers Dawn Benson and Hanne MacKay will lead a workshop in their research-based brain fitness program.

The Enderby & District Arts Council invites you to spend an evening with Brain Trainers Dawn Benson and Hanne MacKay March 27 at 7 p.m. at the Enderby Drill Hall, where they will provide an overview of their research-based brain fitness program which has been presented successfully in Salmon Arm and Vernon. They will share the effect of creativity and the arts on the brain.

Benson has enjoyed more than three decades of working with brains through teaching and presenting at the school, community and university level. She has been an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher, school principal and district administrator in School District 83. Recent coursework and study in the area of brain fitness for the aging brain has led her to develop coursework in the area of brain fitness.

MacKay is an experienced educator with both classroom and administrative experience. For more than 25 years, she has explored how the brain works as it grows and changes. As a teacher of Grades 1 to 8 and a school principal, she has kept active in recent research in literacy and brain function. She appreciates the need for instruction to be brain friendly and social and is known for her lively presentations.
