New players welcome

The new year has begun and clubs and businesses have gone back to their regular routines. Crib and darts have started up again at Vavenby Community Hall. New players are always welcome, even beginners. Both clubs start at 7:00 p.m. – crib on Tuesday nights and darts on Thursday nights. The Fine Things Thrift Store is open on Sundays again.

After School Club going again

Now that school has started into its second half of the year so has the Vavenby Primary After School Club. The children have been unable to ski or skate yet because of the warm weather but the equipment is ready. Homeschoolers from Kindergarten – Grade 3 can join the club as of Jan. 12. Homeschoolers come on a $2 drop-in fee basis, paid in exact change. Any interested parents should phone club coordinator Fay Jones at 250-676-0033. Jones will tell them if their children will need skates or other special equipment.
