Downtown Clinton still features historic buildings.

The Village of Clinton, population 750 may be small in size, but not in history and natural wonders.

Once called 47 Mile House, Clinton was an important stopping place on the Gold Rush Trail in the 1800s and is still the place to find evidence of that history.

The community boasts one of the best historical museums in British Columbia. It is open to the public daily from May to October.

There are numerous provincial parks within a short drive of Clinton. These include Downing Park at Kelly Lake (out Clinton Pavilion Road), Edge Hills and Marble Range Parks, Big Bar Park and the Painted Chasm Park.

Clinton is perfectly located for a home base for outdoor adventures. From there, you can take short day trips to the Big Bar-Jesmond area, Cougar Point and High Bar (sites of the 2009 Kelly Creek wildfire), Clinton Falls, Beaver Dam Lake, Meadow Lake, Carson Mountain and several working and guest ranches.

There are numerous opportunities for fishing, hiking, mountain biking, bird watching, photography, horseback riding, geocaching and more. Winter activities include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, curling, skating and snowmobiling.

Regardless of your interests, you are sure to find something to see and do in the Clinton area.
