Volunteer: Adventure set to change kids’ lives

Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs launch a new national event called Capital One Race for Kids.

Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are excited to announce the launch of their new national event called Capital One Race for Kids taking place in Kelowna on May 26.

Capital One Race for Kids is a return to the best adventures of childhood, embracing the carefree days of being a kid, and a bonding experience for participants as they challenge their skills and raise fund.

Over 100 teams of five adults will be racing through the streets of Kelowna, in this Amazing Race meets Minute-to-Win-It style event.

Ten checkpoints will be set up among local businesses through Kelowna. At these checkpoints, teams will compete in fun and innovative challenges, which once successfully completed, will give them clues to determine the final location in a race to the finish line.

In order to run a successful event, Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are looking for volunteers from the community. Bring a friend. Invite your family.

This fun-filled day will have you laughing, feeling energized and inspired while you are changing the lives for young people in our community.

Capital One Race for Kids will give volunteers an opportunity to have the adventure of a lifetime, while helping Boys and Girls Clubs give Okanagan kids a life of adventure.

Proceeds from the Race will give children and youth a chance to participate in Camp Arrowflight where they will gain skills, knowledge and values through the camp experience that will help shape their future.
