Chelsey-Ann and Craig are sick and wish they could have some fun instead of another treatment, just for today. Their families look for the magic that wishes bring, the smiles of new experiences and the joys being children.
You can help bring over 1,000 wishes to sick children. That means three heartfelt wishes a day.
Kristina Murray, The Chapter Fundraising Coordinator and this week’s column contributor, tells us how.
Children’s Wish Foundation, established in 1984, is a Canadian, non-profit organization that grants wishes to children diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses.
Volunteers are needed for the Organizing Committee for the Wishmaker Walk for Wishes – a fun-filled, family-oriented pledge-based walk coming this October.
We are looking for five to eight individuals. This team will be supported by the volunteer Event Chair(s).
Responsibilities of the event committee will include: venue and logistics, team and walker recruitment, media / marketing and communications, as well as post-walk celebration.
The Organizing Committee would be required to begin preparation immediately with the aim of holding the event by the end of October.
The Wishmaker Walk for Wishes is a national event for Children’s Wish Foundation with each event following the same event format.
The BC & Yukon Chapter of the Children’s Wish Foundation will provide on-going support and will provide the material, supplies and information required to run a successful walk.
