Wedding aisle added to Ladysmith home show

The Ladysmith and District Chamber of Commerce is getting ready to open the doors for the Home and Garden Show.While the annual showcase of local businesses isn’t until April 15 and 16, Rhonda Shirley, one of the directors in charge of planning, said the event is picking up steam with all but four tables booked for the show.This year will also feature a wedding aisle featuring wedding-related businesses and services from photography to hair styles.“This year, things are really shaping up,” said Shirley, in her second year of planning the event.Vendors include everyone from emergency first aid, realtors, food and beverage makers, heating, pet care, home and garden decor and cleaning services and several other organizations from around town.Even some financial institutions have been drawn to the show this year, said Shirley.There will also be outdoor booths featuring such businesses as hot-tub and auto dealers.Sun FM will be providing live coverage from the event on April 15.There will be draws by donation that attendees can enter throughout the event.The dates are new this year, with the chamber opting for Friday and Saturday instead of Saturday and Sunday.The show will be open April 15 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and April 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free.The Lions Club is handling the concession.Contact the chamber, or Shirley at 250-245-4431 for more information on any of the remaining booths.
