When a volunteer unpacked a donation to the museum book sale late last week (April 18 or 19), they found an unexpected contribution.
There was a photo album and several loose prints.
With nothing to identify the owner and unsure what to do with it, Mary Lust began to put her genealogy skills to work and ascertained the pictures were taken in the United States. The album was dated 2006 and the prints from 2007. Most of the references were to a family member or friend named Leslie and as the material surfaced in Quesnel, it’s hoped Leslie lives here and would like her precious pictures back.
“Photos are important for family history and memories,” Lust said.
“So if you recognize these items and if by chance your name is Leslie, call the museum. We’d really like to put these memories back in the hands of the owner.”
The Museum Book Sale is May 4, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the museum.
