Wild Woman Wise Woman Foundation presents Divas Delight, Thursday June 19, 6:30 p.m. at Hanna’s Waterfront Lounge & Grill.
A Kelowna resident who has made a significant difference over the years, Rose Sexsmith launched the Wild Woman Wise Woman Foundation in 2004 with a mission to raise funds for the betterment of health, education and welfare of women and children in Kelowna, Canada and the world.
Since its inception, the Wild Woman Wise Woman Foundation has raised over $80,000 for local and even International projects as Navajeevan Orphanage in Calcutta, India and an Orphanage in Haiti.
The 39th Annual Civic and Community Awards — Sarah Donalda-Treadgold Memorial – Woman of the Year winner has a lot to celebrate for the 10th anniversary year. She and her team of Wonderful Women will organize this “not to be missed” all-female event celebrating 10 of their favourite Divas through decor and theme.
Pine Lighting has generously offered to lend a fabulous crystal chandelier for the night. So dress black and bling, or pink celebrating Women, even come as your honoured Diva.
Just come to a sparkly night of fun for wild and wise women of all ages….because sometimes we all could use a helping hand.
Sexsmith acknowledges the achievements over the past and present years would not have been as significant without the involvement of all of you. “Thank you to all the sponsors and those who continue to generously donate to our event and, of course, thank you to all the wonderful wild and wise women who help us to help others.” she says.
This year the four agencies that will benefit from this event are Karis Village, Alexandra Gardners House, The Boys and Girls Club and Kelowna Women’s Shelter. “It’s thanks to the generosity of the community we’re able to offer counseling, support and a safe place to stay for women and children who are fleeing abuse, and we’re so grateful for the ongoing support of this wonderful event and everyone who participates in it,” says Karen Mason, executive director of the Kelowna Women’s Shelter.
Tickets include gift bags and Summerhill Winery sparkling wine on arrival, tapas and wine courtesy of Mission Hill Winery and the View Winery and “Divatini’s courtesy of Smirnoff, as well as a chance to win a trip for two anywhere Westjet flies!
Entertainment will be varied with dancing all night long to DJ Larry Gray and creating a crazy complimentary photostrip courtesy of Okanagan Photo Star.
