Yellowhead 4-H Club does well at District demos

Submitted by Yellowhead 4-H Club Reporter Kathleen Pilatzke

These last few weeks have been very busy for the Yellowhead 4-H club. April 25 was our second weigh day and also our hands on judging event.

The older members all taught the new and younger members what to look for and how to judge,; all in preparation for Rally, which was held on April 25.

The Yellowhead 4-H club did very good overall for the Rally’s judging placings, with our members all doing great. Congratulations to everyone who placed.

After Rally, there were also the district demonstrations taking place. For seniors the team of Sara Kate Smith (Yellowhead) and Meagan Mcgilvery (Yale) took first,  and Tyson and Tanner Schilling, both from Yellowhead, took first for the junior division.

Our annual flower basket fundraiser was a big success this year. We sold a lot of flowers and would like to thank everyone who purchased flowers for their support.

We hope that you were happy with your flowers and that we’ll see you next year.

Also, a huge thank you to the Barriere Curling Club for letting us unload and have our flower pickup in the curling rink.
