1 man dead following collision between pedestrian, train near Chase

RCMP and Canadian Pacific Railway police were called to a stretch of track Friday afternoon

Police say a 59-year-old man has died after being struck by a train in B.C.’s Interior.

RCMP and Canadian Pacific Railway police were called to a stretch of track outside Chase, B.C., Friday afternoon.

Mounties say the man was walking eastbound on the tracks when he was struck.

Officers who arrived on scene performed CPR, but the man was pronounced dead after an air ambulance arrived.

Police say the man was from the Lee Creek area, northeast of Chase.

His identity has not been released.
