As the window for nominations closes, three new names have been added to the hat in the contest for the Greater Victoria board of education.
David Bratzer, Deborah Nohr, Richard Stern and Edith Loring-Kuhanga filed nomination papers with the school district this week, bringing the total number of candidates to 13.
On Nov. 19, nine board of education trustees will be elected for the school district, on the same ballot as municipal elections for councillors.
Oak Bay resident Nohr, 60, confirmed her candidacy for trustee as did Saanich resident Loring-Kuhanga, 53.
Bratzer, 34, a Victoria police officer is also in the running, along with Saanich resident Stern.
None of the four ran in the last trustee election, in 2008.
All nine current trustees have also filed their nominations papers. They include board chair Tom Ferris, vice-chair Dave Pitre and trustees Catherine Alpha, Jim Holland, Bev Horsman, Elaine Leonard, Michael McEvoy, Peg Orcherton and John Young.
